This list could go on and on with things that deal with mental health. But those things are not the only things that should be associated with Mental Health. People now a days think that if you have an issue mentally that's the only time you need to be concern or make sure that you keep positive energy around you. But that is all lies, your mental health is important, whether you have an issue or not.
Your mind is a major part of your everyday life, it effects your movements and how you may or may not feel about the day when you wake up. The thoughts you think about yourself, situations around you, and just anything that could happen are all about of your mind. You could have positive thoughts and one bad thing happens then all of a sudden you are in a negative space mentally, or you could wake up in a bad place and stay there all day no matter how great your day my end up being. All of that is thing that can affect your Mental Health. Mental Health is the well being of your mind; meaning your thought life and what goes on mentally with you on a regular basis.
So how many of us really check in on our mental health? Or check in on the mental health of those around us? Not just those we know have things that they deal with, but the ones that always tell us they are fine and life is awesome. Because those are the ones in some cases that have things going on in their mind they do not know how to express.
So many people commit suicide and people say "But they were always happy; how were we to know something was wrong?" It's because we never think to check on people just because they seem happy or when we see them they are smiling. People hide a lot behind a smile like hurt, anger, loneliness, and even heartbreak. A smiling face does not always mean they are in a good place.
Your strong friends out there that everyone leans on and takes from the well of love; they are not always strong sometimes they need you just like you need them. But because we never see them break or never see what might really be going on; we always assume they are fine. Thats not the truth, they are hiding behind their strength because they believe no one truly cares about their struggles and the battles they face.
We then want to ACT all bewildered when we see their names behind hashtags, like we checked on them or knew their personal struggles. As people we have to do better when it comes to mental health, because we could be the one person standing between that person and suicide.
Like I have stated Mental Health is more than just the clinical things you can be diagnosed with; it's also the state of mind you are in day in and day out. So be a good friend, check on your friends and people in general; do not just take "I'm Fine" for an answer.
But until next time, I'll be #SurvivingLife.

Mental Health is such an important topic that even jobs are considering offering mental health days for their employees. I agree that those people who are always pouring out into others, smiling, and offering encouraging words are those that need those same things in return. Sometimes, more often than you realize. You can not be the only person in your duo, trio, or circle of friends who is pouring out and giving your positive energy to others because then who is pouring back into you. Then once you have run dry, and the signs of despair start to show, everyone wants to know what's wrong with you. You have to have people around you who understand what I"'m Fine" means. I NEVER take and I'm fine or an I'm Okay..I want to know more....What does I'm Fine really mean? Fine with what.......I sometimes have to remember not to use the term I'm Fine because I know it warrants a conversation that I may not be ready to have. Mental Health is an Everyday, Everyone issue. It shouldn't be a stigma. I hope to one day see a shift from the negative connotations. I don't want to be just another #Hashtag
