Goodbye 2024
It's no longer December 31st.. It's officially new year and I am sitting in my bed reflecting. You know we all have stepped into a new year. Many people are probably getting ready to do their New Year Resolutions, family traditions, and even mentally getting ready for a new year. But do we ever reflect on our year and see what we accomplished along with what we still want to accomplish?
Like in this moment, I am looking at what I want to do in 2025, but I have not really looked at what I have accomplished in 2024. It's like I have to give myself the reality check of I went through life, but I also have accomplished great things as well.... I feel 2024 was a year, not a bad year but yet it was not a great year either.
So let's be real about starting the New Year and making unrealistic expectations for yourself not to be able to obtained. We as people do a thing ever year, where we make these resolutions that we honestly only stick to for a month or two. Why do we do that? Why do we think that we can achieve the resolutions that we never really try or put effort into? I can only speak for me when I talk about this, but it's because I honestly give up on myself due to life stress; yes I said life stress. Have you ever notice that in the beginning everything is good, then Life starts getting crazy and stress makes you forget all the things you promised yourself in the beginning? No.. just me.. I am not afraid to be honest and stand alone.
I have decided that this year, I would do something that I use to do in high school; I did a vision/prayer scrapbook. I have made things that are obtainable for me and that I can remind myself of how great I am. I know that I can get very stressed out from life, things that go on, but I find that when I created the vision board before and I stayed focus on the positive. Now do I believe that this works for everyone? No, but does it work for me? Yes.
Having a vision for the new year, well for me the next 3 years, helps me see the bigger picture. Vision boards, Prayer journals, Manifestation Cork Boards, and any other form of staying focused on you being your best self is great. Going in with real GOALS and not RESOLUTIONS helps you see the year differently. It helps you give yourself a plan of action, a theme, and refocus your passions.
My goodbye to 2024 is just that goodbye.. I allowed you to create resolutions that were unattainable, fall into a depression, and lose focus on being the BEST me for me. Goodbye to giving everything to those that do not deserve it, and goodbye to one sided everything. 2024 knocking the wind out of me is the reason I decided to go back to what I know, what I learned growing up... to write the vision and make it plain.
2025 is the year of ME... I will get everything in my vision and some... but until next time I will still #LivingWhileSurvivingLife.
